On September 1, 2025, more than 3 million Ukrainian children will begin a new school year both in classrooms and online remotely. The academic period will last until June 30, 2026.

According to Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, remote learning remains an important option for students. 'Remote learning will not be canceled. The safety of children is our top priority,' the NV source states.

Throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, any school can implement remote learning. If there are at least five students who need this form of education, classes will be created. Children of internally displaced persons will have the opportunity to continue their studies in their schools, regardless of their location.

Currently, about 15% of students are studying remotely, but about 160,000 students who studied remotely last year will return to in-person learning thanks to 15 underground schools. Ukraine is also actively implementing the equipping of underground educational institutions, and by the end of 2026, it is planned to open more than 200 underground schools.

Ukrainian students are preparing for a new school year, where remote learning remains a relevant and accessible option for education, ensuring safety and comfort in the learning process.
