Competing in Antony, France, the Ukrainian women’s epee team claimed a bronze medal at the 2026 European Championships. The lineup—featuring Olena Kryvytska, Yana Shemyakina, Anna Maksymenko, and Inna Brovko—delivered an impressive performance, defeating squads from Sweden and Estonia before securing bronze in a final matchup against Italy. This achievement marks the fifth medal for Ukraine at the tournament.
On their path to the podium, the Ukrainian fencers first overpowered Sweden with a 45:27 victory, followed by a narrow 35:33 win over Estonia. In the semifinals, they faced the reigning world champions from France, falling 33:45. However, they rebounded in the bronze medal bout, overcoming Italy with a decisive final touch delivered by Anna Maksymenko.
