The successes of Ukrainian athletes at festivals
Ukrainian athletes won 25 medals at the European Youth Festival, which is a significant achievement for the national team. As a result of the competition, Ukraine took 10th place in the overall medal standings, earning:
- 5 gold
- 8 silver
- 10 bronze
This performance became the second most successful for Ukraine at festivals since 1993, only surpassed by the results of 2019, when Ukrainian athletes also won 25 medals. The sports discipline of judo particularly shone, bringing Ukraine 6 medals, making it the most successful at the festival.
Participation in the World Summer Universiade
In addition to successes at the European Youth Festival, the Ukrainian team also participated in the World Summer Universiade, where they took 14th place in the overall medal standings. At the Universiade, Ukrainian athletes won 12 medals:
- 4 gold
- 3 silver
- 5 bronze
A notable achievement was the performance of Mykola Rushchak, who won a bronze medal in the 20-kilometer race walk.
These results highlight the progress of Ukrainian athletes in international sports and their ability to achieve high results in competitions of varying levels.
