Our shooters not only paved their way at the European Championship in shotgun shooting, but also performed successfully! Kateryna Honcharuk, Kristina Khilchenko, and Tamara Beresneva won silver in the trio event at the trench stand among juniors. In total, Ukraine won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, placing it 10th in the overall medal standings.
Throughout the history of participation in the European Youth Olympic Festival, Ukraine has never reached the podium more often than this time! The 'Blue and Yellow' team amazed with their successes, as last year a record number of medals – 25 – was also achieved.
The festival also showcased achievements in judo, where our athletes won six medals, including bronze in team competitions. However, the success of Ukrainian athletes extended beyond judo – medals were also won in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, air rifle shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.
Moreover, Ukrainians impressed with their successful performance at the World Summer Universiade
The final day of the competition was interesting for the Ukrainian team – Mykola Rushchak from Sumy won bronze in the 20-kilometer race walk. Ukraine won a total of 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze, securing 14th place in the overall medal standings.
Ukrainian athletes continue to delight with their achievements not only at the national level but also internationally, raising the country's flag at various sports competitions. They continue to enrich Ukraine's sports treasury with medals and win fans with their impressive successes.
