Detention of a Russian resident in Ukraine

In Zaporizhzhia, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured a 50-year-old resident of Russia named Alexander. He attempted to install a Russian flag in a settlement under the control of Ukrainian forces. Alexander comes from the far east of Russia and grew cannabis in his garden.

The Security Service of Ukraine is working with the captured Alexander, who may face a prison sentence of 8 to 10 years. In this context, it is worth noting that cases related to the support of Russian symbols in occupied territories continue to be recorded in Ukraine.

Additional detentions

Furthermore, in the region controlled by Ukrainian forces, another captive was detained – Yukaghir Leon Trofimov, originally from Yakutsk. According to the 2021 census, there are only 1802 Yukaghirs left in Russia.

Alexander, commenting on the situation, noted: 'So many people have perished. Cemeteries have grown in our area.'

These words emphasize the tragedy that the people are experiencing due to the conflict. The detentions of Alexander and Leon Trofimov reflect the complex situation in Ukraine, where conflicts related to the support of Russian symbols continue. It also indicates that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are actively responding to manifestations of pro-Russian activity in the occupied territories.

Alexander's words about the death of people underline the humanitarian consequences of the war, which have affected not only military personnel but also civilians, representing an important aspect for understanding the scale of the conflict.
