Almost half of the participants in the OLX survey plan to spend 5–20 thousand UAH on preparing tires and wheels for winter. Against the backdrop of rising prices for winter tires, every third participant has already chosen or is considering used options. This was reported by OLX Spare Parts based on the results of the October survey.
Car expenses: how drivers save money in Ukraine in autumn 2026
Over the past six months, 88% of respondents have driven their own or family cars. Among them, 79% use a car daily or nearly every day. At the same time, some participants are cutting their travel and maintenance expenses.
In the past year, respondents have employed the following methods of saving:

29% chose cheaper fuel;

26% combined errands into one trip or planned routes;

21% used their car less frequently;

17% postponed repairs and maintenance.
Almost a quarter did not try to save on their car. Among those whose driving habits changed, 45% cited fuel prices as the reason. Previously, rising prices at gas stations had already increased the burden on drivers' budgets.
Winter tires in Ukraine: what budgets are planned for the 2026 season
83% of the respondents plan to switch to winter tires. For 52%, price is important, for 46% the year of production, and for 44% the condition and tread depth. Another 41% pay attention to grip and braking.
For preparing tires and wheels, respondents allocate:

up to 5 thousand UAH: 15%;

from 5 to 20 thousand UAH: almost half;
-
more than 20 thousand UAH: 9%.
Another 13% do not spend money and do not plan to do so. It is important to note that the listed amounts relate to the overall preparation of tires and wheels. These are the planned budgets of the participants, not the set price for a set or the average actual expenses of all drivers.
The survey covered 789 respondents in October 2026. The provided materials do not describe the selection of participants, so the results should be read as responses from this group. And during the selection of winter tires, a lower price does not automatically confirm the quality of the used set.
