Recapturing Karpyvka Village
As part of the ongoing counteroffensive named 'Vivaldi,' Ukrainian troops have successfully liberated the village of Karpyvka in Donetsk Oblast from Russian occupation. This update was shared by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Facebook. The 'Vivaldi' operation forms a key component of Ukraine’s broader efforts to regain control in the Donetsk region. By September 28, the operation had secured an area spanning 176 square kilometers.
Military Units Engaged in the Counterattack
The offensive involves personnel from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and the 'Silver Trio' unit, with the Third Army Corps playing a central role. Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, remarked:

For the first time during this campaign, the Third Army Corps employed ground robotic systems for both mine clearance and assault operations, including laying mines along enemy routes.
On the Lyman front, Ukrainian forces continue to drive out occupying troops from local villages. The State Border Guard Service emphasized:
“Karpyvka. Taking back what’s ours. Step by step. Meter by meter. Ukrainian soil is being cleansed of Russian occupiers.”
Throughout the 'Vivaldi' operation, over 250 Russian soldiers have been captured. These developments highlight the increasing momentum of Ukrainian forces working to restore sovereignty over contested areas.
