On weekends in the capital, patrol officers stopped motorist Igor for violating road markings. During the document check, it turned out that he had forgotten his driver's license at home, and the mobile application 'Diia' was not working due to internet connection issues. The result - a monetary penalty.

Lawyer Valery, who has twelve years of experience dealing with such violations, explains: police are guided by Article 126 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The fine amounts to 425 hryvnias. There are no exceptions - documents must be physically available to the driver or in electronic form through the application.

The digital certificate in 'Diia' contains all the necessary documents - driver's license, car registration, and insurance. However, its functionality entirely depends on the quality of the internet connection and the absence of technical glitches in the system. If problems arise, the driver risks getting fined as if living in the 'stone age'.

'There was a case when documents simply disappeared from 'Diia' after an update. The driver couldn't prove anything. If there is no internet - there are no chances either,' the lawyer explained.

On social networks, drivers share similar stories - the application stops responding, documents become unavailable, and the police do not take technical difficulties into account. Despite the fact that digital solutions simplify everyday life, logic and prudence remain important.

Legal consultants advise not to rely solely on mobile devices. Practice shows: the phone may run out of battery, the connection may be lost, and the fine will still be issued.

During the document check by the police, it became clear that motorist Igor did not have his driver's license with him and the mobile application 'Diia' was not working. As a result, he had to pay a fine. Legal experts advise not to rely only on digital solutions, as they can fail at the worst possible moment.
