Kostiantyn Temliak: Actor and soldier

Kostiantyn Temliak, an actor now serving in the military, has resurfaced on social media after a long period of silence. He posted a video wearing his combat uniform on his Instagram account, along with lines from his own poem. His Instagram profile is currently set to private, and screenshots of the post were shared by the news outlet Oboz.ua.

Temliak joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024. Early in his service, he stated that he was part of the 'Achilles' strike drone battalion within the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. However, his personal life became a topic of public scrutiny following allegations of domestic violence. Temliak and his wife, Anastasia Nesterenko, ended their relationship after these accusations. His former partner accused him of domestic abuse and of harassing a minor.

Ongoing investigation and broader context

Law enforcement opened a criminal case under Article 126-1 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which addresses domestic violence. As part of the investigation, authorities are also looking into possible additional offenses. In his poem, Temliak reflects on war with lines such as:

“Dance, dance, sing for him, while I *bash about the war. The real man isn’t one who wears a blazer, but one ready to fight with knives...”
These verses reveal his perspective on the current events and circumstances shaping his life.

The case of Kostiantyn Temliak highlights not only his professional career but also pressing social issues, particularly domestic violence—a persistent problem in Ukraine. His situation illustrates the complex challenges many people face in relationships, as well as the difficulties of balancing military service with personal life. It is crucial for society to keep discussing these matters, support victims of abuse, and recognize the role public figures play in shaping public awareness.
