Ukrainian Veterans’ Theater Shines at Cine Paris International Film Festival
The Ukrainian documentary 'Veterans’ Theater' earned the prestigious Best Documentary Film award at the Cine Paris international film festival held in Paris. This powerful film portrays the lives of veterans who have endured severe injuries, amputations, and psychological wounds. Through the transformative power of theater, these individuals find a path back to active and meaningful lives, highlighting the crucial role of art in healing and rehabilitation.
Director and cinematographer Yulia Bolshynska dedicated a year to capturing the personal journeys of the film’s subjects. Central to the story is the veterans’ preparation of the theatrical production 'Aeneid,' directed by Olga Semyoshkina. Key contributors to the project include Akhtem Seitablaev, the artistic director of the Veterans’ Theater, and Andriy Rizol, the concept creator and executive producer.

'Veterans’ Theater' was produced by the 'Look Ukrainian!' Association with support from the MHP Community Charitable Foundation and the European Union Representation in Ukraine.
