Ukrainian history was created by heroic, selfless, and talented people. We honor their names in the series of commemorative coins 'Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine'. Today, this series has been enriched with a new release - the commemorative coin '120 years since the birth of Nilo Kasevich'.
Nilo Kasevich is a legend of the Ukrainian underground, an outstanding graphic artist who turned art into a powerful weapon in the struggle for Ukraine's freedom. He was an active political and public figure, developed the design of banners, and used them to support the Ukrainian army and for propaganda campaigns.

The coin has a nominal value of 2 hryvnias and is made of nickel-silver. The obverse features a self-portrait of Nilo Kasevich, executed in a woodcut technique. The reverse contains a stylized composition made of woodcut fragments and inscriptions that reflect the spirit of the struggle for freedom.
The design of the coin was created by Alisa Ivanova, and the sculptor was Volodymyr Atamanchuk. The circulation amounts to up to 75,000 pieces in souvenir packaging. Sales are scheduled to begin on November 26, 2025, through the NBU online store. Distributing banks will also gradually implement the coin as it is shipped by the National Bank's Banknote and Coin Mint.
