Severe Storms, Hail, and Gusty Winds Set to Hit Ukraine on July 8

Небезпечні погодні умови з грозами та сильним вітром очікують українців 8 липня.

Weather Forecast for July 8, 2026

An active weather front moving in from Western Europe, linked to a low-pressure system over the Baltic Sea, is expected to bring significant changes to Ukraine on July 8, 2026. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the country will experience brief rain showers, thunderstorms, localized hail, and powerful wind gusts, along with a drop in temperatures.

Regions likely to see the heaviest precipitation include:

  • the southern oblasts;
  • central Ukraine;
  • Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts.

In the southeastern part of the country, no substantial rainfall is forecast for the nighttime hours. Hail and squalls with speeds of 15–20 m/s are possible. After the front passes, cooler air from the west will sweep in, leading to a noticeable temperature decrease.

Temperature Outlook

Overnight lows across Ukraine will range from +14 to +19 degrees Celsius. Daytime highs in most regions will reach +24 to +29 degrees. However, in the western oblasts, Vinnytsia region, and most northern areas, temperatures will not exceed +19 to +24 degrees. Winds will come from the southwest and west, blowing at 7–12 m/s. In western and northern regions, daytime gusts could reach 15–20 m/s.

The broader weather forecast for the period of July 6–12, 2026 indicates that these atmospheric shifts may influence conditions throughout the week.

These expected weather changes could have a notable impact on agriculture, as rain and thunderstorms may delay fieldwork. Moreover, the sudden temperature drop might harm crops, especially in areas that had previously experienced high heat. Residents are advised to exercise caution during deteriorating conditions, particularly when thunderstorms and strong winds occur.

As severe weather conditions are expected to impact various regions of Ukraine, it is crucial for residents to stay informed about potential rainfall and storms.
