Ukraine is hit by cold and thunderstorms: meteorologist warns of a sudden change in weather

Weather forecast for the coming days


In the coming days, unstable weather with precipitation and noticeable cooling is expected in Ukraine. According to meteorologist Ihor Kibalchych, there will be rains of varying intensity, thunderstorms in places, and strong winds. Cold air will arrive from the northwest of the country, lowering the temperature by an average of 5-8 degrees.



Forecast for August 23


On August 23, on Flag Day, it will be cool in the west, with no significant precipitation, occasionally there will be fog. The temperature at night will range from +7 to +12 °C, and during the day from +18 to +23 °C, only in the Vinnytsia region it may reach +26 °C. The situation in the north is similar, with no precipitation except for Sumy region, where moderate rains will occur. The temperature will reach +24 °C during the day.



On Independence Day, August 24, the weather will be unstable. In the west, thunderstorms are possible during short rains, even small hail, and the temperature will not exceed +22 °C. In the north, it will be down to +8 °C at night.



Forecast for the south and east


In the central regions, rain is expected, in places significant, with possible thunderstorms. Night temperatures will range from +14 to +19 °C, during the day - +20 to +25 °C. In the south, thunderstorm rains, heavy downpours, and gusts of wind up to 22 m/s are forecasted. In Crimea and the Azov region, it may reach +30 °C, while in other regions it will be +22 to +27 °C. In the east, it will be dry at night, with rains and thunderstorms during the day, with the warmest in Donbas - up to +34 °C.



The center will see +26 °C, with possible gusts of up to 20 m/s. The south will be dry and warm, but with wind gusts. The east will remain without precipitation, except for Kharkiv region, where short thunderstorms are likely.



The meteorologist warned that Ukrainians should prepare for a sharp drop in temperature and unstable weather: 'Changes will be felt starting from the weekend.'



Previously, climate scientists advised forgetting about harsh winters.
