Severe Weather Warning for Ukraine

On May 26, meteorologists have issued a yellow-level warning for hazardous weather conditions across Ukraine, with wind gusts forecasted to reach 15–20 m/s in most regions, except for Zakarpattia. The day is expected to bring variable cloudiness and mostly dry conditions, though some areas—including the northern and eastern regions, as well as Cherkasy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts—may see rain.

Looking ahead to May 27, short-lived showers and thunderstorms are anticipated in certain locations. Winds will shift to the northwest at 7–12 m/s, with gusts potentially intensifying to 15–20 m/s during the day. Overnight temperatures on May 26–27 are expected to range between 9°C and 16°C, while daytime highs will fall between 18°C and 26°C. In Zakarpattia and southern areas, temperatures could climb to 29°C.

Outlook for the Coming Days

Starting May 28, a temperature drop of 3–5 degrees is forecast. Meteorologists warn that these conditions may disrupt the operations of energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as transportation networks.

This advisory highlights the need for residents across Ukraine to prepare for shifting weather patterns that could affect daily routines. Staying informed about forecasts is crucial for safety during strong winds and rain, especially in regions expecting thunderstorms. Local authorities and emergency services should remain on alert for potential impacts stemming from these dangerous meteorological events.
