VIPER L Robotic System Takes the Stage
At the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, Ukrainian defense firm UkrArmoTech introduced its new VIPER family of unmanned ground vehicles. The first model to pass certification testing is the VIPER L, a logistics variant developed in partnership with AB3.Tech, a platform linked to the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These vehicles are designed to streamline supply operations under combat conditions.
VIPER L Specifications
The VIPER L can transport food, medicine, and ammunition, as well as evacuate wounded personnel. It offers a payload capacity of up to 350 kg. With a full 350 kg load, its operational range reaches 50 km; with a 100 kg load, that extends to 90 km. Top speed is 13 km/h, and continuous runtime can hit five hours. The vehicle uses a 4x4 wheel configuration, GPS navigation, and supports Starlink connectivity, enabling communication over distances of up to 50 km.
Only the first-generation VIPER has been certified so far, but other variants are undergoing active battlefield testing:
- VIPER C, designed for communications;
- VIPER F, a combat platform equipped with a certified weapon module from UAT-MOUSE.
Beyond robotics, UkrArmoTech supplies Ukraine's defense forces with armored vehicles, including the TISA, GYURZA-01, GYURZA-02, GYURZA-03, and DESNA models. The company is also developing the Skif tracked armored personnel carrier, which serves as a domestic counterpart to the M113.
Debuting the VIPER L at a global defense expo highlights the increasing reliance on technology in modern warfare, particularly for logistics. Innovations like Starlink integration could dramatically improve how military units are supplied and supported.
Ongoing trials of other VIPER versions, especially the VIPER F combat variant, signal UkrArmoTech's commitment to advancing cutting-edge solutions for Ukraine's defense capabilities.
As UkrArmoTech continues to innovate with its unmanned vehicles, advancements in underwater technology are also making headlines. Recently, Ukraine showcased the impressive capabilities of the Sea Trident underwater drone, a 10-ton marvel designed for various maritime operations. This reflects a broader commitment to enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities across different domains.
