On October 22, after another attack on Ukraine's energy system, Ukrenergo decided to introduce hourly power outage schedules in all regions of the country. This information was announced by the electricity transmission system operator at 15:40.
According to Ukrenergo, in all regions where emergency outages were previously applied, hourly outage schedules will be introduced from 16:00 in order to restore power to consumers who have been without electricity for a long time. The implementation will involve up to three groups simultaneously.
Features of outages in Kyiv and other regions
In Kyiv, the situation has become particularly challenging after the attack. CEO of the energy company Yasno, Serhiy Kovalenko, announced that 'almost every second person in Kyiv is without power.' Energy workers are actively working to restore the networks, but they need time.
The Dnipropetrovsk region became the first region to transition from emergency mode to stabilization outage schedules at 13:30. Kyiv was also supposed to make a similar transition at 16:00 on the instructions of Ukrenergo. DTEK urged Kyiv residents to follow updates on official Telegram channels.
Ukrenergo announced the introduction of hourly outages due to the attack on the energy system. In different regions, such outages will occur with varying frequency to restore power to consumers. The situation in Kyiv is complicated, but work on restoring electricity supply is already underway.
