Weather Forecast for Ukraine on February 2nd
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning for a severe cold snap expected across the country on February 2nd. Overnight temperatures are forecast to drop to between -18°C and -23°C nationwide. The most extreme conditions are anticipated in the northern regions and the Kharkiv oblast, where nighttime lows could reach -22°C to -27°C, with localized areas potentially seeing temperatures as low as -30°C.
During the day in the north and Kharkiv oblast, temperatures will range from -13°C to -18°C. In southern and southeastern Ukraine, overnight lows of -12°C to -17°C are expected, with daytime highs of -6°C to -11°C. In Crimea and Zakarpattia, nighttime temperatures will fall to -3°C to -8°C, while daytime readings will remain between 0°C and -5°C.
According to the Center's press service, icy conditions are expected in some areas, with a north to northeasterly wind blowing at 5-10 meters per second. In the Kyiv region, overnight temperatures are predicted to be -22°C to -27°C, with the possibility of reaching -30°C. In the capital city itself, daytime highs will be around -14°C to -16°C, with overnight lows of -22°C to -24°C. The weather across Ukraine on February 2nd is expected to be bitterly cold and dry. Such deep freezes are a significant test for the nation's infrastructure, especially during the ongoing conflict.
