Ukrnafta Supervisory Board Reports on Q1 2026 Performance

Ukrnafta's supervisory board released its Q1 2026 activity report, revealing a 49% jump in light petroleum product sales compared to the same period in 2025. Specifically, gasoline sales rose by 31%, while diesel fuel sales climbed 75%. Hydrocarbon extraction volumes held steady relative to Q1 2025, with an additional 22,000 tons of oil and 8.2 million cubic meters of gas produced through capital repairs and enhanced recovery efforts. In western Ukraine, the company's assets saw oil output increase by 5% and gas output by 9%.

Fuel Prices and Cashback Program

As of May 27, 2026, the average price for A-95 gasoline stands at 76.70 hryvnias per liter, while diesel fuel averages 87.35 hryvnias per liter. Several gas station chains have cut prices for gasoline and diesel by roughly 1 hryvnia per liter. Additionally, some operators reduced autogas prices by 2 hryvnias.

Since March 20, 2026, Ukraine has operated a National Fuel Cashback program, extended by the government through May 31, 2026. The cashback rates are:

  • 15% on diesel fuel
  • 10% on gasoline
  • 5% on autogas

Maximum savings per liter reach 11 hryvnias for diesel, 7 hryvnias for gasoline, and 2 hryvnias for autogas. Starting May 1, 2026, the compensation cap is 500 hryvnias per user per month.

“Overall, the company demonstrates financial resilience, adapts to external challenges, and continues to ensure stable operations even amid persistent infrastructure attacks,” said the Ukrnafta Supervisory Board.

The rise in light petroleum product sales signals a recovery in fuel demand in Ukraine, potentially indicating market stabilization amid a difficult economic landscape. The government's fuel cashback initiative may ease the financial burden on consumers, especially as fuel prices climb. It also highlights state efforts to support citizens during the crisis, even as companies maintain financial stability in the market.

“The Cabinet of Ministers launched the fuel cashback because it does not affect support for the army and provides assistance to those who need financial help most due to rising fuel prices,” said Oleksiy Sobolev, a government representative.
