Ukraine's Postal Service Launches Special Military Rates
Ukraine's national postal service, Ukrposhta, has joined the 'Pluses' program within the 'Army+' application, introducing significant discounts for active military personnel. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support service members during the ongoing conflict. For online orders, shipments to and from frontline regions now cost just 1 UAH, while a 25% discount applies to domestic and international deliveries. To access these offers, service members must be authenticated within the 'Army+' app.
The process requires generating a barcode in the app to show the Ukrposhta operator. The 1 UAH rate applies to online 'Priority' shipments weighing up to 30 kg. If arranged at a post office, an additional 5 UAH fee applies. Furthermore, users can access up to three promotional codes per offer each month.
Frontline Regions and Tariff Adjustments
The special 1 UAH rate is valid for the following frontline regions:
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Donetsk
- Zaporizhzhia
- Kherson
- Dnipropetrovsk
The 25% discount covers domestic 'Priority' shipments up to 30 kg and international mail.
Ukrposhta also announced that a partial update to parcel shipping tariffs is planned for April 3, 2026, with changes for the smallest shipments amounting to roughly 5 UAH. Some priority rates will remain unchanged. The last comprehensive tariff review occurred in 2024.
In separate developments, Ukrposhta introduced a unified online contract for business clients. The company also transferred 17.4 million UAH to the state budget to pay a fine imposed by Ukraine's National Bank for violations in financial monitoring. Ukrposhta has officially contested the regulator's decision and is preparing a lawsuit.
Introducing special tariffs for military personnel is a crucial step in supporting those serving on the front lines. It also reflects Ukrposhta's efforts to improve service accessibility for specific citizen groups.
In addition to the recently announced discounts, it's important to note that Ukrposhta plans to revise its parcel shipping rates starting April 2026. This upcoming adjustment will affect small shipments, potentially altering the costs for both military and civilian users.
