Ukrzaliznytsia Suspends Rail Service Between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, Deploys Buses

Укрзалізниця тимчасово зупинила залізничне сполучення між Дніпром і Запоріжжям, замінивши його автобусами.

Rail Service Halted Between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia

Ukraine's state railway, Ukrzaliznytsia, has suspended train traffic between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia due to attacks on rail infrastructure and the detection of hostile drones. While the attacks caused damage to railway assets, no passengers or railway staff were injured. This disruption is part of a wider pattern of Russian strikes targeting Ukraine's critical infrastructure.

To maintain passenger transport, replacement bus services have been organized in coordination with the military administrations of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. This arrangement affects passengers on the following trains traveling via alternate routes to the Synelnykove and Zaporizhzhia stations:

  • No. 37/38 Kyiv-Zaporizhzhia
  • No. 85/86 Lviv-Zaporizhzhia

Enhanced Air Threat Monitoring

Ukrzaliznytsia also stated it is intensifying air threat monitoring along train routes. Regular rail service will resume only after the attacks are repelled and the situation in the region stabilizes. In response to the increasing number of Russian attacks, the company is implementing temporary restrictions on connections.

In a separate development, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced a new daily train, No. 26/25 Odesa-Rakhiv. It will begin service from Odesa on February 3 and from Rakhiv on February 4.

Amid the escalating conflict, Ukrzaliznytsia continues to provide passenger transport by adapting its schedule to current threats. This demonstrates the company's commitment to maintaining vital infrastructure under difficult conditions, which is crucial for population mobility in the region. Passengers are urged to pay close attention to station announcements, information from train crews, and push notifications in the UZ app.
