Ukrzaliznytsia has added three passenger cars to its fleet and included them in two international trains from the Polish city of Holme. They are expected to increase the number of seats for passengers returning to Ukraine at the end of summer before the start of the school year. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.
New Ukrzaliznytsia cars will operate on two routes
Three new cars have been added to the train sets:
-
№24/23 Holme, Kyiv;
-
№120/119 Holme, Dnipro.
Both services are important for passengers traveling to Ukraine from Poland or making transfer in Holme after trains from other European cities. The additional cars are expected to help transport more people during the traditionally high-demand period at the end of August.
The company did not specify how exactly they distributed three cars between the two trains. At the same time, they emphasized that the new rolling stock has already joined the routes.
What is available in the new cars for trips from Poland
The cars are equipped with air conditioning that can operate during long stops thanks to enhanced battery systems. They also feature individual outlets and USB ports, multi-level lighting, and more comfortable upper shelves with tables.
Restrooms will have changing tables. For trips with small children, conductors can provide playpens, and passengers who want to spend time on the road without gadgets can request a chess set.
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia has already received 21 new passenger cars. As part of the state program, a total of 100 cars are planned to be delivered: compartment, inclusive, and next-generation cars with a 20-year extended service life. Delivery of the entire batch will take place in stages until May 2028.
Let us recall that Ukrzaliznytsia transported over a million passengers in two weeks.
