Passenger Train Service Between Kyiv and Sumy Halted
Starting October 1, 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia is discontinuing passenger train operations on the Kyiv–Sumy route due to escalating Russian attacks targeting railway infrastructure. This suspension affects long-distance trains, specifically:
- Train No. 66 Kyiv – Sumy
- Train No. 776 Kyiv – Sumy
- Train No. 775 Sumy – Kyiv
- Train No. 779 Sumy – Kyiv
As a result, suburban rail services across Sumy region are now running under restricted and adaptable schedules, adjusted according to the local security conditions.
Current Transport Operations
The full route between Liubotyn and Sumy, which was restored in mid-September 2026, remains operational and stable. Daily trains No. 143 and 144 on the Sumy–Rakhiv line continue to serve passengers to and from Konotop. To maintain connectivity, Ukrzaliznytsia has arranged bus services to and from Konotop station, operating under the company's standard fare system.
