Ukrainian Railways Adjusts Train Operations
Responding to changing passenger demand, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) will modify the schedules of seven train pairs starting this summer. These routes, connecting various regions across Ukraine, will begin operating on a daily basis to enhance service capacity and meet traveler needs.

- Train No. 128/127: Lviv – Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia
- Train No. 78/77: Kovel – Odesa
- Train No. 88/87: Kovel – Dnipro

- Train No. 121/122: Mykolaiv – Kyiv
Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia is reviving service on route No. 143/144 between Sumy and Rakhiv, improving connectivity in that corridor. A supplementary train, No. 227/228 from Kyiv to Chernivtsi, will also be introduced, running every other day.
Tickets for these trains will go on sale between 5 and 20 days before departure, allowing passengers to book travel in advance with greater convenience. These schedule changes reflect the railway operator’s effort to adapt to shifting travel patterns and improve summer mobility.
The shift to daily service for several routes and the reactivation of select lines demonstrate Ukrzaliznytsia’s response to rising summer travel demand, when many people journey across the country.
By increasing the frequency of these trains and restoring certain connections, the company aims to make transportation more accessible for tourists and travelers planning trips. This move could also give a boost to domestic tourism, as improved rail links make it easier to explore different parts of Ukraine.
As the summer travel season approaches, it's essential for passengers to stay informed about potential challenges. Recent reports indicate that Ukrzaliznytsia anticipates seat shortages due to ongoing attacks, which may impact train availability. Understanding these factors can help travelers plan their journeys more effectively amidst the adjustments in train services.
