Ukrzaliznytsia Unveils Updated Summer Train Schedule
Starting June 28, Ukraine's national railway operator will roll out a revised summer timetable featuring 12 new train services. Ticket sales for both new and adjusted routes are already open, giving passengers greater flexibility in planning their trips. In addition to the new services, three trains will see faster travel times, and four routes will be extended into the Carpathian Mountains. Eight trains will now run daily, significantly improving accessibility for travelers.
Major Route Overhauls
One of the most notable changes is the extension of Train No. 1/2 'Unity' to Rakhiv, making it Ukraine's longest flagship route at 1,325 kilometers. Meanwhile, Train No. 55/56 (Kyiv to Rakhiv) will switch to daily operation, simplifying travel planning between these cities. The 'Sakura' train (No. 29/30), which runs between Kyiv and Uzhhorod, will also see faster journey times in both directions.
Additionally, the Kyiv–Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernihiv–Ivano-Frankivsk routes will be extended to the Yasinia station. Highlights among the new services include:
- An overnight express from Dnipro to Mukachevo,
- A daytime train from Dnipro to Odesa,
- New routes: Kyiv–Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv–Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kharkiv–Kremenchuk.
Ukrzaliznytsia has also adjusted the schedules of several suburban trains across multiple regions.
'You can find the remaining new options for your desired route in our app and on the website, but note that tickets are being released gradually. Some trains will become available within a day or two. Unfortunately, we haven't increased the number of carriages, but we have worked hard over several months to make the most efficient use of our existing resources – that's what made the new summer schedule possible,' said representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Overall, the new summer timetable from Ukrzaliznytsia offers improved travel conditions, catering to the needs of many passengers.
The update to the summer schedule is designed to enhance travel accessibility and convenience for Ukrainian citizens, especially to tourist destinations. This could positively impact domestic tourism, as new routes and faster services create more opportunities for travelers. These changes may also encourage greater use of rail transport, a key component of the country's infrastructure.
In addition to the new routes introduced, it's essential to stay informed about the latest changes in commuter train schedules. These adjustments are designed to enhance travel efficiency and convenience for passengers.
