Revised Schedules and Routes for Commuter Trains
Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, will implement temporary adjustments to the schedules and routes of several regional train services in April 2024. These changes are necessary to facilitate planned maintenance work on railway tracks. The modifications will affect routes in the Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Volyn, and Odesa regions, as well as specific services to and from Kyiv, Fastiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
To accommodate essential infrastructure upgrades, Ukrzaliznytsia has updated the schedules for certain commuter trains this April. In the Kharkiv region, on April 3, 6, 7, and 8, the following services will have temporarily altered routes:
- No. 6321 Liubotyn – Ohultsi
- No. 6916 Ohultsi – Liubotyn
- No. 6921 Liubotyn – Ohultsi
- No. 6915 Kharkiv-Pasazhyrskyi – Ohultsi
- No. 6912 Liubotyn – Nova Bavariia
- No. 6221 Liubotyn – Ohultsi
In the Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions, from April 3 to 10, changes are scheduled for these trains:
- No. 6503 Znamianka – Myronivka, departing at 09:05;
- No. 6505 Znamianka – im. T.H. Shevchenka, departing at 13:50, arriving at 16:20;
- On April 4, 6, 8, and 10, the schedule for train No. 6002 Znamianka – Piatykhatky-Pasazhyrska changes, departing at 07:30, arriving at 10:34.
In the Volyn region, on the Lutsk – Kivertsi section, trains No. 6380 Radekhiv – Kivertsi (from April 3) and No. 6380 Horokhiv – Kivertsi (from April 6) will not stop at the Prylutska, Dachne, and Zhabky stations.
In the Odesa region, from April 4-8, 12-16, and 20-25, routes will be adjusted for these services:
- No. 6254 Odesa-Holovna – Podilsk
- No. 6274 Podilsk – Pomichna
Additionally, from April 5-9, 13-16, and 17-26, changes will affect the following trains:
- No. 6273 Pomichna – Podilsk
- No. 6257 Podilsk – Odesa-Holovna
- No. 6270 Odesa-Zastava-1 – Podilsk
- No. 6272 Podilsk – Pomichna
- No. 6275 Pomichna – Podilsk
- No. 6277 Podilsk – Odesa-Holovna
Furthermore, train No. 6381 Zdolbuniv-Pasazhyrskyi – Krasne will operate on a revised schedule on April 3 and then from April 9 onward, departing at 18:20 and arriving at 21:30. Starting April 4, train No. 6909 Nizhyn – Kyiv-Volynskyi will run daily. From April 6 to May 2, the schedule for train No. 6912 Kyiv-Volynskyi – Nizhyn changes, with a departure at 12:08 and arrival at 14:55. Also, from April 6 to May 15, the schedule for train No. 6234 Fastiv-1 – Myronivka is adjusted, departing at 06:48.
Separately, on April 3, trains No. 6423 and No. 6425 Ivano-Frankivsk – Stryi, and No. 6424 and No. 6426 Stryi – Ivano-Frankivsk will be canceled. Starting April 8, services No. 6423, 6425, 6424, and 6426 will change their frequency to run daily, except on Wednesdays.
'During planned maintenance work on specific sections of railway track, we are temporarily adjusting the schedules and routes of some regional trains,' stated the Ukrzaliznytsia press service.
The company also advises passengers: 'Before your journey, we recommend checking the exact departure time and route of your train on the official Ukrzaliznytsia website.'
In unrelated news, as of March 1, 2024, the cost of a set of bed linen in platzkart and coupe carriages has increased to 95 hryvnias, up from 80.
