Ukrzaliznytsia Track Maintenance for April-May 2024

Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, is undertaking essential track maintenance in April and May 2024. This work will affect the routes, schedules, and departure times of several passenger trains. The changes will impact services in the Poltava, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy regions. This infrastructure upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to improve the safety and reliability of the national rail network, which remains a vital transport link during wartime.

Specific Train Schedule Alterations

From April 1 to 3, 2024, changes will apply to trains No. 6683/6684 running between Kremenchuk-Pas. and Romodan. Instead of the usual Kremenchuk-Pas. – Hadiach im. Serhienka M. I. – Kremenchuk-Pas. route, the train will operate on a Kremenchuk-Pas. – Romodan – Kremenchuk-Pas. route. On April 2, trains No. 6542/6543 and No. 6544/6545 running between Romny and Lokhvytsia will also follow new routes.

Significant changes will also affect train No. 6363. On April 1, 15, 22, 23, 30, and May 1, it will run between Romodan and Lubny instead of Hrebinka. Train No. 6366 will operate the return trip from Lubny to Romodan, also bypassing Hrebinka. Additionally, on April 1, the departure time for train No. 6543/6931 from Romodan to Bakhmach will change to 11:36 instead of 11:41, and train No. 6545 will depart at 17:28 instead of 17:34. On April 2, train No. 6541 will leave Romodan at 04:40 instead of 04:45.

From April 1 to 18, 2024, schedule changes will also apply to trains No. 6018, No. 6212, No. 6254, No. 6292, No. 6293, No. 6294, and No. 6295, which operate between Fastiv, Kyiv, Koziatyn, Shepetivka, and Zhashkiv. Specifically, train No. 6026 from Fastiv to Kyiv, previously departing at 17:19, will now leave at 17:06, with arrival scheduled for 18:51 instead of 19:12.

It is also noted that since March 1, 2024, the price for bed linen sets in Ukrzaliznytsia's platskart and coupe carriages has increased. A set now costs 95 hryvnias, which is 15 hryvnias more than before.

This track maintenance is a crucial step toward enhancing the safety and comfort of passenger rail travel in Ukraine.

While the schedule adjustments may cause temporary inconvenience for travelers, they are necessary for modernizing the railway infrastructure, which will improve service quality in the long term. The increase in linen costs reflects broader economic trends affecting service prices across the country, a factor passengers should consider when planning their journeys.

As Ukrzaliznytsia continues to implement significant changes to train schedules, it's crucial for passengers to stay informed about the latest updates.
