Ukrzaliznytsia Announces Temporary Cuts and Cancellations to Commuter Rail Routes

Укрзалізниця інформує про зміни в роботі приміських поїздів.

Ukrzaliznytsia Adjusts Commuter Train Schedules

Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has temporarily altered the schedules for its commuter trains across several regions. These adjustments are part of the company's ongoing operational changes, which are common during periods of infrastructure maintenance or shifting demand. The changes involve shortening certain routes to terminate at Krolevec station, while service to and from Snovsk station is currently suspended, as confirmed in an official company statement.

Specific Schedule Alterations

Specifically, four commuter trains will cease operation starting February 9. These are:

  • #6502 Snovsk – Bakhmach-Pas.
  • #6504 Snovsk – Bakhmach-Pas.
  • #6501 Bakhmach-Pas. – Snovsk
  • #6503 Bakhmach-Pas. – Snovsk

Additionally, the routes for several other trains have been modified. Train #6541 will now run from Krolevec to Konotop instead of from Neplyuyeve to Konotop, and train #6542 will run from Konotop to Krolevec instead of from Konotop to Neplyuyeve. Furthermore, trains #6543 and #6544 will also resume service from Krolevec to Konotop, replacing the previous Neplyuyeve to Konotop route.

These schedule revisions are likely to significantly impact passengers who rely on these routes, particularly those traveling to Snovsk and Bakhmach. Ukrzaliznytsia advises passengers to monitor updated schedules closely to avoid inconvenience. While the company's announcement did not specify the reasons for the route adjustments, such modifications are often implemented in response to safety considerations, technical constraints, or changes in regional transport demand. These operational shifts reflect the railway's efforts to adapt its services to current conditions.
