Umerov and Hnatov Begin Consultations in the USA: Priority - Long-term Security Guarantees

Consultations with the American Side

On December 19, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov began consultations with the American side in the USA. These negotiations are taking place with the participation of European partners and aim to discuss important security issues for Ukraine.

Priorities of the Consultations

The priority of these consultations is to ensure reliable and long-term security guarantees for Ukraine. Rustem Umerov emphasized the importance of coordination in the negotiation process, stating that

"coordination that allows keeping a shared vision and moving in agreement"
.

Following the consultations, Umerov will report to President Volodymyr Zelensky about the results achieved and the next steps.

These negotiations are taking place against the backdrop of increasing international attention to the security situation in Ukraine, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict in the east of the country and the threats that may arise in the future.
