Rustem Umerov Holds Talks in the United States
Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary, Rustem Umerov, met in the US with Steve Witkoff, the special representative of the US president, and Jared Kushner. “We identified core tasks. First, the humanitarian track. We hope to facilitate a new phase of prisoner releases. Second, invigorating the diplomatic process. We are in constant communication with the US side and are aware of the partners' corresponding discussions with the Russian side. We are working to ensure this helps bring us closer to a dignified peace and guarantees security. Unfortunately, we see that even regarding a ceasefire regime, the Russian side is not showing a constructive approach.”
