Today, December 10, the draw for the elite round of qualification for Euro-2026 among boys under 19 years old took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. According to information from UAF, teams born no later than 2007 were distributed across pots.
The Ukrainian national team found itself in the third pot of League A and entered Group A3 along with the Czech Republic, Finland, and Estonia.
Elite Round Groups of Euro-2026 (U-19). League A:
- Group 1: Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden, Cyprus.
- Group 2: Italy, Ireland, Poland, Scotland.
- Group 3: Czech Republic, Finland, Ukraine, Estonia.
- Group 4: Germany, Austria, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Group 5: England, Croatia, Spain, Bulgaria.
- Group 6: Portugal, Serbia, Greece, Kazakhstan.
- Group 7: France, Switzerland, Hungary, Wales.
The competitions will take place from March 2 to March 31, 2026, and the group winners will advance to the final stage along with the host - Wales, from June 28 to July 11.
The draw for the final tournament will take place on April 16, 2026. It is also worth noting that for Ukraine to participate in the World Cup, they still need to pass two more stages.
Qualification for the World Cup:
In the playoff semifinals, our team will meet the Swedish national team on March 26, 2026. If successful, the Ukrainians will face the winner of the Poland - Albania match.
The last stage of the qualification ended with Ukraine's victory over Iceland with a score of 2:0, with goals scored by Zubkov and Hutsulyak. This victory gave the team a chance to continue fighting for participation in next year's World Cup.
