Fundraising for demining in Ukraine
The UNITED24 platform has raised 1.5 million dollars for the demining of three important sites in Ukraine. This funding will be used for demining:
- Vysokopilska hospital in Kherson region;
- Hrakivskyi lyceum in Kharkiv region;
- Fenewytske and Irpin Forestry in Kyiv region.
The cost of the work has decreased from 61.4 million hryvnias to 53.3 million hryvnias. Contracts for demining have already been signed for Hrakivskyi lyceum and the areas of the forestry. The fundraising campaign called 'Step by Step' was launched jointly with the Ministry of Economy, Demine Ukraine, and the Center for Humanitarian Demining.
International support
From April to May, over 1.5 million dollars were raised with the participation of donors from more than 120 countries, indicating significant international support in the demining process.
This initiative highlights the importance of international cooperation in the restoration of Ukraine's infrastructure after the conflict. The funds raised will be used not only for direct demining but also for improving security in regions affected by military actions. The project also demonstrates how joint efforts of state and non-state organizations can lead to significant results in humanitarian initiatives.
