Drone Strikes Hit Dnipro, Kyiv, and Kharkiv Overnight on May 12

Вночі 12 травня безпілотники атакували Дніпро, Київ та Харків.

Drone Attacks Target Dnipro and Kyiv

In the night of May 11–12, Russian forces launched drone attacks on the cities of Dnipro, Kyiv, and the surrounding Kyiv region. According to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, one person was injured in Dnipro, and the strikes caused a fire and damaged transportation infrastructure. Across the Dnipropetrovsk region, units of the Air Command East successfully shot down nine enemy drones.

Earlier that same night, the Russian occupation army also targeted Kyiv with drones. Debris from one drone fell onto the roof of a 16-story residential building in the Obolon district, where residents managed to extinguish the resulting fire. Settlements across the Kyiv region also came under drone attacks, with residential buildings and educational facilities hit.

Kharkiv Situation and Attack Aftermath

Separately, late on the evening of May 11, a hostile combat drone struck the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. The impact occurred in a densely built-up residential area, with the drone hitting the roof of an apartment building.

These drone assaults underscore the ongoing escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which continues to endanger civilians. Damage to infrastructure and threats to human life highlight the urgent need to protect Ukrainian cities and villages from enemy attacks. The successful interception of drones by Ukrainian forces demonstrates their readiness to counter aggression.

The recent drone strikes in Kyiv have raised serious concerns about the safety of urban areas, particularly after debris from one of the drones ignited a fire on the rooftop of a residential building.
