Strikes on Russian Logistics Hubs
Ukraine's Defense Forces launched overnight attacks on two logistics sites in Russia's Rostov Oblast, hitting a DNS distribution warehouse and an Ozon fulfilment complex. This was the first time a DNS warehouse was hit. After the strike, residents saw thick smoke over the DNS location that was visible for kilometers.
The Ozon complex was struck as well, triggering a small fire that was later contained. Operations at the facility were temporarily stopped.
'A drone hit caused a small fire, which was brought under control. The complex's operations have been temporarily suspended,' Ozon's press service said.
Ozon's warehouse network has now become a repeated target. On 27 August 2026, drones struck two Ozon logistics centers, one in Orenburg and one near Ufa. Even earlier, in a single night, three Ozon warehouses in different regions of Russia caught fire, marking the first time drones reached Ozon's marketplace logistics.
Separately, reports indicated a likely strike on a shipbuilding plant in Aksai, which hosts a logistics hub for Russia's Southern region serving a large part of the country. DNS ranks among Russia's largest sellers of consumer tech, electronics and household goods, and it comes fourth in online sales behind Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex Market. With Apple, Samsung, Intel and Asus gone from the Russian market, DNS has become a key channel for contraband and grey imports from China through parallel import schemes.
The attacks underline an escalation in the war, with drones increasingly used for strategic blows.
