The government of Ukraine has decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the largest state-owned enterprises, particularly in the fields of energy and defense industry. Special attention will be focused on transparency in procurement and financial control. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, after the government meeting.
“The supervisory boards of companies 'Naftogaz', 'Ukroboronprom', 'Ukrzaliznytsia', 'Ukrhydroenergo' and state banks must, within their powers, analyze the activities of the executive bodies of the companies. In case of violations, additional measures should be taken to strengthen control and inform the government. They should also ensure proper and prompt response to reports from law enforcement agencies regarding offenses concerning officials of these joint-stock companies,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the State Audit Office will conduct state financial control of large enterprises in the public sector. This inspection is aimed at the effective use of budget funds and the accuracy of financial reporting.
The government plans to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the largest state-owned enterprises to ensure transparency in procurement and financial control. It also envisions an analysis of the activities of the executive bodies of the companies and strengthening control over their activities.
