The government simplified the process of obtaining social assistance: how to apply for it in Diya

Влада спростила процедуру отримання соціальної допомоги: кроки подачі заявки через додаток Дія
As reported by 'Khvylia', Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeriia Koval shared information about the simplified system for obtaining social payments for families in Ukraine who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Previously, the procedure for receiving assistance required the submission of up to five different applications and visits to many institutions, but now the entire process is conducted online through Diya.

Who can apply

Families have the right to basic social assistance if they already receive one of the following payments: state social assistance for low-income families, assistance for children from single mothers, or assistance for children in large families (the latter can only be submitted at the Pension Fund of Ukraine).

Important restrictions

Basic social assistance is not provided if there are able-bodied persons in the family who have not engaged in productive activity for three months, or if someone in the family has acquired property worth more than 100,000 hryvnias. Restrictions also apply to the amounts in bank accounts and the ownership of cars younger than 15 years.

Ukrainians were explained how to receive basic social assistance in Diya. With the help of the online service Diya, Ukrainian families experiencing difficult periods in life can quickly and easily receive the necessary support without visiting numerous institutions and filling out piles of forms. It is sufficient to have the right to one of the payments and to comply with important restrictions that prevent assistance from being obtained by those who have the capacity to engage in productive activity or have an 'excess' of property.
