The Cabinet of Ministers simplified the procedure for restoring elements of the gas transportation system and power lines, as reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Ministry of Energy. Companies will be able to implement projects for the construction and reconstruction of elements of the gas transportation system more easily, particularly for reverse gas supply. Conditions for construction of new power lines will also be simplified, especially in frontline regions, to ensure rapid restoration and reliable electricity supply for consumers.

Gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage

According to data, natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storages exceeded 9 billion cubic meters on July 17, accounting for 29.2% of storage capacity. Compared to last year, reserves in storage are down by 1.45 billion cubic meters or 13.9%. Current reserves remain the lowest in at least the last 12 years, but the gap from the previous year is decreasing. Ukraine signed a supply agreement for liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the USA, and the European Parliament is considering ways to abandon Russian gas.

Ukraine is actively developing and modernizing its gas transportation system and power lines to ensure efficient and reliable energy supply. Simplifying procedures will allow for quicker restoration and expansion of infrastructure, which is crucial in the context of ensuring the country's energy security.
