Coordination Center Meeting on Resilience Plans
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko chaired the second meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Resilience Plans in Chernihiv. The meeting focused on the progress of resilience plans for the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, as well as identifying funding needs to protect critical infrastructure. A total of 210 critical infrastructure sites were identified, with work on them set to begin in the coming days.
Funding and Priorities
The meeting also established urgent funding requirements for protecting critical infrastructure in nine regions and the Kyiv region. To address these needs, the government is preparing to allocate 11.2 billion hryvnias from the state budget's reserve fund at its next session. This funding is part of a broader effort to harden essential services against ongoing threats.
Yuliia Svyrydenko stated: 'We have formulated the urgent funding need for protecting critical infrastructure objects in nine regions and the Kyiv region. In total, we have identified 210 critical infrastructure sites, and work on them will begin in the very near future.'
Furthermore, the meeting coordinated priorities for engaging with international partners to secure additional financing. Steps for implementing the resilience plan submitted by Kyiv's city authorities were discussed separately.
Svyrydenko added: 'We are finalizing work on deregulatory decisions and additional business support. We are developing an affordable lending program for businesses focused on energy independence, with a fixed annual rate of 7% for the entire contract term. Within the '5-7-9%' program for frontline areas, we are extending loan terms until the end of 2027.'
This meeting represents a significant step in ensuring the stability and security of Ukraine's critical infrastructure, particularly given the current economic and military challenges. The identification of 210 sites and the planned funding allocation demonstrate proactive government measures to support regions requiring urgent attention. These initiatives, alongside business support programs and efforts to attract international partners, are crucial for the country's economic resilience and recovery.
