Approval of the children's rehabilitation program
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for state payment for rehabilitation and recreation services for children in need of special social attention. 91.5 million hryvnias have been allocated for the implementation of the program. Funding will be carried out by the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
Categories of children who will receive vouchers
The program provides for the provision of rehabilitation services lasting 21 days and recreation services lasting 14 days. These services are offered to children who have suffered as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The categories of children who will receive vouchers include:
- orphaned children;
- children with parents who are participants in hostilities;
- children whose one parent has died, gone missing, or died as a result of injuries.
In addition, the program may include:
- children registered as internally displaced persons;
- children living in settlements along the line of contact;
- children with disabilities;
- biological children of foster parents or adoptive parents.
This initiative aims to provide children who have been traumatized as a result of the war with the opportunity to relax and rehabilitate in a safe environment.
The introduction of this program is an important step in supporting vulnerable categories of children who have been affected by the war. Funding from the state budget and participation of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities indicate the government's commitment to providing social protection for the most vulnerable segments of the population. The program may become a significant element in the process of restoring the psychological and physical health of children, which is especially relevant in the context of prolonged military aggression.
