Stabilization of the electricity tariff for industry
The government of Ukraine is creating conditions for the stabilization of the electricity transmission tariff for industry through a new mechanism for purchasing electricity. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes to the Procedure for conducting electronic auctions, which are intended to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in the electricity purchasing process.
According to the new mechanism, NEC 'Ukrenergo' will purchase electricity from NAEK 'Energoatom' through special auctions. The sale of electricity will be carried out at a projected price based on the weighted average market indicators. This will allow industry to receive electricity at stable tariffs, which are reduced by 30% from the weighted average market price.
Supporting the economy in times of instability
The mechanism will operate during the state of martial law, indicating the government's attempt to support the country's economy amid instability. The introduction of this mechanism could be an important step towards ensuring energy stability for industrial consumers in Ukraine.
The implementation of the new mechanism for purchasing electricity could significantly impact the energy market in Ukraine, providing industry with more predictable and stable electricity costs. This is important, as tariff stability can support production processes and contribute to economic recovery amid war.
Thus, the government is trying to maintain energy security and support enterprises during a difficult time for the country.
