Automatic military registration from 18 years: what has changed for Ukrainians

The Ukrainian government is implementing a new project - automatic military registration for citizens from 18 years old. Now Ukrainians abroad find it much easier to apply for or exchange their passport while being registered for military service. This information was shared by the Ministry of Defense.



Representatives of the military department noted that this initiative is aimed at simplifying procedures for citizens. Now young men will automatically receive conscription status upon reaching the age of 18. Moreover, men aged 18 to 60 who are abroad can easily apply for or exchange a passport with automatic registration for military service.



“The decision reduces bureaucracy for people and provides the state with current and accurate data,” emphasized the Ministry of Defense.


The application “Reserve+” has also been updated, which will automatically display the owner's photo in the electronic document. Additionally, the government has decided to improve the procedure for automatic extensions of deferments from conscription during mobilization for certain military personnel.
