Single Account Introduced by Government for Payments to Families with Children

Уряд запровадив нову систему обліку для виплат сім'ям з дітьми.

Changes in State Benefit Payments

On May 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 617, altering the approach to disbursing certain types of state aid for families with children. Under the new rules, a unified special account will be used for payments related to the 'Baby Box,' childcare assistance for children under one year old, 'eYasla,' and 'School Box.' Previously opened accounts with a special usage regime will remain active.

Types of State Assistance

The changes apply to several forms of government support. These include:

  • 'Baby Box'
  • Childcare assistance until the child reaches one year of age
  • 'eYasla'
  • 'School Box'

When applying through the Diia Portal, funds will be deposited into a current account with a special usage regime linked to an electronic payment instrument called Diia.Card, issued by an authorized bank.

If the application is submitted in paper form, funds can be directed either to a current account with a special usage regime tied to Diia.Card or to another special account opened at any authorized bank. These changes aim to streamline the process of receiving assistance for families with children.

The newly implemented adjustments to the state aid payment mechanism could significantly ease families' access to financial support, as centralizing accounts reduces administrative hurdles. Additionally, the use of the Diia.Card electronic payment tool may expedite fund receipt, which is crucial for young families managing child-rearing expenses. This move also highlights Ukraine's ongoing trend toward digitizing public services.

In addition to the recent changes in state benefit payments, families can also benefit from the unblocking of the childbirth payment of 7,000 UAH, which has already been transferred to banks. This development further enhances the financial support available to new parents, aligning with the government's efforts to streamline assistance for families with children.
