Ukraine's 2026 Pension Fund Budget: UAH 1.26 Trillion Approved for Payouts

Затверджено бюджет Пенсійного фонду України на 2026 рік: виділено 1,26 трильйона гривень на виплати пенсій.

Ukraine's Pension Fund Budget for 2026

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has formally approved the Pension Fund's budget for 2026 through Resolution No. 127. The total budget, balancing both revenues and expenditures, is set at UAH 1,263.3 billion. This approval is a key part of the government's annual financial planning, providing a framework for social security obligations.

Revenue from mandatory state pension insurance is projected at UAH 1,001.9 billion. An additional UAH 197.6 billion will be transferred from the state budget to cover social payments. The budget also allocates UAH 2.0 billion for pensions and lifetime monetary support mandated by court rulings. A further UAH 63.8 billion in revenue is designated for social insurance related to temporary disability and compensation for victims of workplace accidents.

Budget Expenditures and Their Impact

The planned expenditures account for the indexation of pensions and insurance payments scheduled for 2026, as well as the recalculation of other benefits. In July 2025, the government approved an updated procedure for distributing payments required by court decisions.

The approval of the 2026 Pension Fund budget represents a crucial step in ensuring the stability of social payments in Ukraine.

The majority of the funding is directed toward pension payments, underscoring the government's focus on supporting its population, particularly amid ongoing economic challenges. While the planned indexation and recalculations have the potential to improve retirees' financial standing, their successful implementation will depend on budget execution and the broader economic climate in the country.
