Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision on a single procedure for preparing the National Energy and Climate Plan, which will be reviewed every five years. This decision was made on January 2 and aims to ensure more effective management of energy resources and climate change in the country.
New procedure for plan preparation
According to the new procedure, the draft National Energy and Climate Plan is subject to approval by the Energy Community Secretariat. After receiving the relevant recommendations, Ukraine has two months to finalize the document. The procedure also provides for mandatory consultations with the public and interested parties, which will promote greater transparency in the preparation process of the plan.
This decision is an important step for Ukraine in the context of integration into European energy standards and commitments to combat climate change.
The regular review of the National Plan will allow adapting the strategy to new challenges and trends in the energy sector, which, in turn, will contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
