The government has approved a plan for winter preparation 2026: how to protect the energy system

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the action plan of the Ministry of Energy for the winter of 2025/26. It includes measures such as engineering protection during energy crises, creating equipment reserves for swift energy supply recovery, and forming crisis response teams on the ground for quick reaction to emergencies.



The plan also provides support for frontline regions and reinforces communication infrastructure for connectivity even during power outages.



'The enemy has not changed its intention to completely destroy our energy system and plunge Ukrainian cities into complete darkness, and it continually employs new tactics for this purpose. Therefore, we must be prepared for any scenario. The developed roadmap of actions will allow us to enhance the resilience of the fuel and energy complex facilities to potential attacks, reduce the recovery time of electricity and heating supply, ensure effective interaction between all structures, and rationally use equipment reserves'
- stated the Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk.
