Government Audit of Preparedness Measures Comes to a Close
Ukraine's government has wrapped up a nationwide review of how winter-resilience plans are being put into practice. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced the completion and said a detailed report was delivered during a session of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). The review looked at financing volumes, needs, and implementation progress across all regions, with particular attention to Kyiv, where risks and threats are considered the highest.
“Today's NSDC session included a comprehensive briefing. We now have a clear view of each area: completed tasks, ongoing efforts, critical gaps, and urgent decisions that need to be taken,” stated Serhiy Koretskyi.
Key Areas of Focus for Local Communities
Based on the audit results, the government has set clear priorities for every community:
- safeguarding energy infrastructure and its components;
- establishing backup heat-supply systems;
- maintaining continuous operation of critical infrastructure.
“The only acceptable outcome is full community readiness for winter under constant Russian terrorist attacks, along with strict implementation of every point in the approved plans,” the prime minister emphasized.
The finalized audit highlights the government's intensive work ahead of winter even as Russian aggression continues. This review is part of broader seasonal preparation, designed to expose vulnerabilities before the cold weather arrives. With energy security and infrastructure protection as key priorities, local authorities must stay closely coordinated to meet these goals and preserve normal living conditions throughout the country.
