Monthly Bonus Maintained for Educators in Conflict Zones
The Ukrainian Government has committed to continuing a monthly supplement of 2,600 UAH for 23,600 teachers serving in frontline and border regions. These educators operate in 614 schools, providing in-person or hybrid instruction. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky emphasized that supporting professionals in these high-risk areas remains a top government priority.
Starting September 1, 2026, this bonus will be incorporated into the official salary scale for all teachers. However, for those in frontline and border territories, the payment will remain a separate allowance, ensuring that these educators receive this crucial financial support until the end of 2026. To fund this, the Government has reallocated resources among local budgets to cover payments from January through August 2026 and guarantee disbursements from September to December 2026.
Budgeting and Regional Coverage
The necessary funds will be allocated across 90 local budgets spanning six Ukrainian regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv. This bonus forms part of the guaranteed teacher salary, influencing calculations of additional benefits such as prestige pay and seniority allowances.

Starting September 1, there will be a 20% increase in teacher salaries, aimed at enhancing the financial stability of all educators across Ukraine.
