The Cabinet will change the rules for deferment from mobilization for students and educators
The government of Ukraine has approved proposals for significant changes in providing deferments from mobilization for students and education workers. This was reported by People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko in his address.
The Cabinet proposes to change the rules for deferment from mobilization for students and education workers. The government has agreed to amend the provisions of the mobilization law regarding the rights of educational workers and students. It now needs to be registered in the Verkhovna Rada. Only after that can Parliament consider this proposal
According to Honcharenko, the key changes will affect two main categories of citizens. For students, the deferment will only remain under strict conditions, which include starting education no later than a year after reaching the appropriate age for conscription, full-time or dual education, and completing education within the established time frames. These same requirements will apply to students of vocational and higher educational institutions.
As for scientists and educators, deferment will remain available for those who have a scientific degree or work in educational or research institutions in positions with a workload of at least 0.75 of a full-time position.
In conclusion:
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to make changes to the conditions for granting deferments from mobilization for students and educators. The changes provide for strict conditions for students and the possibility of deferment for educational workers with a scientific degree or those in permanent positions in educational or research institutions.
