Ukraine’s Mid-Range Strikes Show Rising Effectiveness

Oleksandr Pivnenko, Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, reported that the use of Ukrainian mid-range strikes has dramatically accelerated the destruction of Russian logistics and equipment. According to him, operational results over the past several months reveal a major improvement in strike efficiency against enemy forces. Notably, the monthly number of Russian artillery systems hit has jumped from 442 to 609 units. Additionally, the count of destroyed ammunition and fuel-lubricant depots located more than 30 km from the front line surged from 69 to 192 in June.

Current Battlefield Situation

The most intense fighting is currently taking place on the Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne axes. Russian forces launch dozens of assaults daily, employing drones and aircraft. However, units from the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine (Azov) are successfully holding back the enemy’s pressure, while the 2nd Corps (Khartia) is operating effectively on the Kupyansk axis. The special unit Omega is achieving some of the best results in deploying unmanned systems.

“Mid-range strikes systematically deprive the enemy of their ability to wage war as they are accustomed. The results from the last few months speak for themselves. Compared to the start of the year, when we began actively using operational-depth strike drones, the rate of damaging enemy logistics and equipment has increased significantly.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian army failed to achieve any of its key offensive objectives in the first half of 2026, and the pace of the occupying forces’ advance has more than halved. These figures point to a shift in the conflict’s dynamics and confirm the effectiveness of Ukrainian military operations.

The growing impact of Ukraine’s mid-range strikes may signal strategic progress in countering Russian aggression. The rising number of destroyed targets—especially artillery systems and supply depots—underscores the success of new tactics and technologies employed by Ukrainian forces. This could significantly alter the overall balance of power on the front line.

The slowdown in Russian troop advances also indicates that Ukrainian forces are adapting to wartime conditions and finding effective countermeasures, potentially reshaping the conflict’s trajectory in the near future. The performance of the Ukrainian army may become a critical factor in determining the next strategies for both sides.

As the effectiveness of Ukrainian mid-range strikes continues to rise, the impact on Russian logistics has become increasingly evident. This shift in battlefield dynamics is further underscored by recent events, including a significant attack on a major Russian oil processing facility.
