Contract Talks with Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus has initiated negotiations with Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic regarding a new contract, as his current deal is set to expire this summer. This information, reported by Hlavkom citing insider Nicolo Schira, confirms the Turin club has opened talks with the player's agent, with a meeting scheduled for March. Vlahovic, who has been sidelined with an injury since late November, would be eligible to leave as a free agent. Securing his future is a priority for Juventus, as losing a key attacker on a free transfer would be a significant blow.

Vlahovic's Record and Juventus's Season

Since joining Juventus in January 2022, Vlahovic has made 162 appearances for the club, scoring 64 goals and winning the Coppa Italia in the 2023/24 season. In the current 2025/26 campaign, he has featured in 17 matches across all competitions, netting 6 goals—three in Serie A and three in the Champions League. His goal-scoring prowess remains a vital asset for the team's attack.

Juventus's performance this season has been mixed. In Serie A, the club currently sits in 5th place with 46 points from 26 matches, trailing 4th-placed Roma by 4 points and enduring a three-match winless streak in the league. In the Champions League, Juventus finished 13th in the main stage and will face Istanbul's Galatasaray in the playoffs, having lost the first leg 5-2. The club's struggles highlight the importance of retaining core players like Vlahovic during a period of transition.

These contract negotiations are strategically crucial for Juventus. Vlahovic is a central figure in the team's attacking line, and securing his long-term commitment could help stabilize the squad. With the club aiming to climb back to the summit of Italian football and advance in the Champions League, keeping its top talent is essential. Failure to agree on a new deal may force Juventus into the transfer market to seek a replacement, adding further pressure in a challenging season.
