In the city of Artsyz, Odesa region, electricity supply may be absent for at least a week. The reason is — night attack by the Russian Federation on energy infrastructure facilities. This was reported by the mayor of the city of Artsyz, Serhii Parpulanskyi.
The mayor of Artsyz, Serhii Parpulanskyi, urged residents not to expect a quick restoration of electricity supply. According to him, based on information from energy specialists, electricity connection should not be expected in the near future or within the next week. Meanwhile, the situation in the villages of the community and the military settlement may be somewhat better, but forecasts remain grim there as well.
The mayor also reported that water supply in the city will be provided according to a schedule that was announced earlier. The city authorities are asking residents to understand the temporary restrictions and to monitor official announcements.
Electricity in Artsyz after the Russian strike on December 13
Problems with electricity supply arose after a massive missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation on the night of December 13. The strike targeted facilities for electricity generation, distribution, and transmission in several regions of Ukraine.
Consequences of the attack on energy
As a result of the shelling, consumers were left without electricity in several regions, including:
Odesa;
Chernihiv;
Kherson;
Dnipropetrovsk;
Kirovohrad;
Mykolaiv.
Currently, work is ongoing in Odesa to restore electricity, water, and heat. Meanwhile, military administration leaders note that making precise forecasts regarding restoration times is premature.
